Pee Wee C-2 Update October 2006

The PeeWee C 2 Team continues to work hard against the
Valley League Level III and Level IV foes. The team claimed a 4-3 comeback
victory against Andover and have played the other traditional powers in Reading,
Marblehead, and Woburn very tight. The team is working on an identity and are
pretty dedicated to one another. We expect our players to improve their skills
and team play in the coming months.
At the current time Brendan Woodworth, Zach Perella and Joe Henry have
volunteered to help the team by rotating between the pipes. The team forges on
without a regular goaltender but is hopeful the Wednesday goalie clinic's and
dedicated practice sessions will bring out our best puck stopper. When they are
not playing goalie both Woodworth and Perella skate a wing for us. Brendan plays
aggressive in the corners and has established confidence playing the body. Zack
plays strong in the nuetral zone game and covers opponents well. Joe Henry plays
strong on the blue line and works his angles very well for someone who is still
growing physically into the position and plays all out.
The defense corps in addition to Henry are shored up by Matt Durant, Josh
Cunningham, John Doherty, and new comer Fred Gillis. Each player continues to
work hard and are showing poise in the parity season. Durant plays a very steady
"D" and has lots of upside to rush the puck while "JD" Doherty plays a solid
back home style with strong puck control and physical presence. Josh
Cunningham's natural skating posture will lead to a big upside for us and Freddy
Gillis is one of the more spirited players on the team and reads the play very
well for a rookie on the ice "stepping up" to break up plays at the blue line.
Forwards for the PeeWee C 2 team so far are doing a nice job playing together
and are passing the puck to each other. Centers John Cronin, Joe Terranova, and
